MIXED MEDIA ARTIST . STORYTELLER . CURATOR

As an artist and storyteller, I am drawn to vintage photos, antiques, old books, discarded items, bits and pieces of ephemera, freshly gathered finds, present day treasures, and all things paper—its textures and colors. While insignificant to many, these materials beckon, inviting questions as to their origin story and challenging me to tell their "new" story. Their "new" narrative comes together as I combine and edit them, never quite knowing where the essence of each will lead. The ultimate goal is to create an evocative reality—a new vista—that transports and draws the viewer in, igniting exploration, discovery, and emotion.

As a creator, curator, and teacher, I seek to inspire fellow artists and help them to obtain the diverse materials they need to hone their craft.

What draws me to any material—whether vintage, discarded, or new—is not its age or origin, but the story it carries and the one I can help it tell. Whether I am assembling a gallery piece from a tarnished brooch, a vintage photo, or an antique clock, or curating a kit of fresh papers and pristine pieces for a fellow maker, I am doing the same thing: honoring the creative spark that turns fragments into meaning. My work is both the art I make and the art I help others make—because creativity, in all its forms, is meant to be shared.
